The OPNA Survey is a biennial survey of public, private, and charter school students in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grades, which captures data on topics such as alcohol, tobacco, other drug use, mental health, academic performance, and violence. It is an anonymous survey and not an individual assessment of students. The OPNA Survey is a project of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) and has been administered since 2004. As stated in the State of Oklahoma Statute {ยง70-24-158}, public school districts are required to administer either the OPNA Survey or an ODMHSAS-approved alternate survey biennially.
Please register only one time per district or charter school.
The registration deadline is March 9, 2026. The survey must be administered between December 1 and March 31.
Please note that the parental consent forms provided by ODMHSAS must be distributed at least two weeks before the administration date.
